We pride ourselves on being one of the few residential builders
who are able to offer our customers a unique design/build
process. Our in-house design team, under the direction of
Joe Waltman, will design your home with you and be available
throughout the building process as we construct your home.
We believe there is great advantage and efficiency in this
method.
Working in a closely coordinated effort, the design and building
departments can share their resources of knowledge and expertise.
As the plans are developed the designer will discuss construction
details with the actual trades people who will perform the
work. These discussions help to create details which add great
design aspects but are practical and cost efficient to construct.
The Design/Build process also has great advantages in terms
of budgeting purposes. Many potential homeowners have gone
through a great deal of time and expense to have home plans
fully developed for bidding purposes, only to find out that
the cost to build or renovate their home is well over their
budget. As we construct many types of homes we are kept up
to date on current construction costs and practices. These
enable us to create budget estimates based on preliminary
plans to ensure we are within a customer’s budget. If
we find the preliminary plans exceed the budget, adjustments
can be made to the plans before additional time and effort
is expended.
We have several types of Contract options available and
would be happy to discuss them with you to find one that best
suits your needs.
We have also developed and currently maintain solid relationships
with a number of local and out of state architectural firms,
and would be pleased to set up interviews with them for you
if you choose to pursue this option.
Whether your taste is the classic Maine shingle style, colonial,
victorian, cape or contemporary, we can assist you in designing
a home that will uniquely suit your needs.
